June 22, 2012 - Sausalito & Beaches

Lunch at La Boulange in Lafayette after hiking around the Lafayette Reservoir.  We heard Starbucks just bought La Boulange to add their baked goods to the menu.

Sculpture in Lafayette.

San Pablo Reservoir.

Driving down a windy road to the beach.

Muir Beach.

A short walk later...

Muir Beach Lookout.

Looking north, where we'll be driving to Stinson Beach.

Dr. Suess trees.

View down to Muir beach.

The windy drive up the coast to Stinson Beach was worth it!  Peter might disagree since I asked him to slow down at every turn ;)

Tile mosaic bubbler.

Pretty cool handrails.

Stinson Beach park.

Nice sky at Target.

San Francisco Italian Festival = Foods from every nationality and Asian BBQ on every corner.  Laaaaame.

Back to Sausalito!

Nap in the grass.

Wave catcher steps.

Map of the US made of license plates.

Sausalito park.

My favorite walk along the Iron Horse trail in Walnut Creek.

June 8, 2012 - Walnut Creek & Napa Valley

Pyramid Brewery in Walnut Creek has a fresh citrus hefeweizen.

Cool seating area.

We discovered this alley & tree patio at Va de Vi on a night walk... must go back.

First Napa Valley stop: Robert Mondavi Winery.  They have live shows on this big lawn that the winery wraps around.  Check out the summer concert series if you want to visit!

Next stop... our lovely stay at the Wine Country Inn that all the bridesmaids gifted us!

A nice surprise- a free upgrade to our new favorite place- Sunny Garden Cottage #27.

Picnic lunch after hitting the deli at V. Sattui Winery

Geodesic roof above the bar.

Venezuelan sandwiches at the Pica Pica Maize Kitchen at the Oxbrow Public Market in Napa.

I went for the sandwich maker's favorite:  the Pabellon Maize'wich.  It's shredded beef, sweet plantains, a black bean spread, queso fresco cheese, and avocado on sweet corn bread.

It is tasty but really dense, and an overwhelming amount of flavor.  A few ingredients too many.

Sushi's christening our new Native American wool rug from a roadside sale in Napa.  She thinks we buy everything for her.
